Scoring, Judging & Tiebreaker Rules

 

  COMPETITION FORMAT

 

Each episode of Roll'n Wars features two (2) food trucks competing directly against one another in a single-elimination, head-to-head format.

There are no team rounds — each truck competes independently. 1 SIGNATURE DISH REQUIREMENT

Each competitor must prepare and serve one (1) signature dish — their most popular or most meaningful menu item. No substitutions are permitted on the day of filming without prior approval from the Roll'n Wars production team.

 

Competitors must prepare enough samples for all designated judges. Sample sizes should be consistent between both trucks to ensure fair judging. Production will advise on required quantities prior to shoot day.

 

THE JUDGING PROCESS -

 Real Customers as Judges: Everyday customers arriving at the filming location serve as the judges. No professional food critics or paid panelists are used.

Judges must not be affiliated with either competing truck.

2 Blind Tasting: Where possible, judges will sample dishes without prior knowledge of which truck prepared each dish to ensure unbiased scoring.

3 Independent Scoring: Each judge scores independently using the official Roll'n Wars scorecard. Discussion or collaboration between judges before

scoring is not permitted.

4 Score Collection: Completed scorecards are collected by a Roll'n Wars production staff member. Scores are tallied on-site and announced on camera.

 

SCORING CATEGORIES

Each judge scores both dishes on a scale of 1 to 10 across four categories. A score of 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. Half-point scores (e.g. 7.5) are not permitted

— whole numbers only.

 

1–10

Visual appeal, plating, and first impression of

the dish.

1–10

Overall flavor, seasoning, texture, and

enjoyment.

1–10

Originality, creativity, and distinctiveness of

the dish.

1–10 ★ Would the judge pay for and return to buy this

dish again?

The Likelihood to Buy Again category (★) carries additional significance as the official tiebreaker category. See Section 4 for full tiebreaker rules.

 

TIEBREAKER RULE ⚠ OFFICIAL TIEBREAKER RULE

In the event that both trucks finish with an equal total score across all four categories and all judges, the following tiebreaker shall apply:

The truck with the higher total score in the "Likelihood to Buy Again"

category will be declared the winner.

the Likelihood to Buy Again category only, and the higher score wins. This decision is final.

 

DETERMINING THE WINNER 5 REIGNING CHAMPION

The truck with the highest combined total score across all judges and all four categories is declared the Reigning Champion for that episode. The Reigning

Champion earns the right to return in a future episode to defend their title against a new challenger. The losing truck is eliminated from that season's

competition but may reapply for future seasons.
